    Helen Griffin

    Veterinary Surgeon/Clinical Director

    BVetMed MRCVS GP CertSAP

    Helen qualified from Royal Veterinary College in London in 2001. She enjoys the variety of cases seen in a busy general practice. Helen is our Senior Vet and Clinical Director. Outside of work Helen loves cooking, baking and being outdoors spending time with family and friends.

    Susie Romaniuk

    Veterinary Surgeon

    Susie grew up on the Wirral in Cheshire and graduated from The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in 2015. Outside of work Susie is involved in theatre groups and has performed in various musical productions. She also enjoys walking in our beautiful countryside, horse riding and has an interest in all things culinary.

    Grania Cookson

    Veterinary Surgeon

    BVM BVS MRCVS

    Grania joined the team in 2021 after graduating from Nottingham University! She has two lovely Labradors called Jax and Beau! Beau has over 10,000 followers on Instagram! In her spare time she loves going on adventures with them and completing the Wainwrights!

    Veterinary Surgeon

    Sorcha graduated in 2013 from Glasgow University and joined the team in 2022, having previously run a very successful veterinary home visiting service.

     

    She’s worked in small animal and emergency practices.

    Samantha Kenny

    Head Nurse/Practice Manager

    RVN

    Sam qualified in 1992 and joined the team in 2006. She has always worked in small animal practice, as a head nurse and as a clinical coach for student nurses. Sam has a keen interest in dog behaviour and training. In 2020 Sam took on the role of Practice Manager alongside her nursing duties. She lives with her partner Phil, Jazmine the border collie and cat Stumpee.

    Clare Burrows

    Deputy Head Nurse

    Clare joined the team in 2012. She started working in practice in 1999 and since then she has worked in a variety of private and charity practices, as a head nurse and a clinical coach for student nurses, and has achieved a wide range of qualifications. She lives locally with her husband, sons, dog Harley and cat Millie.

    Leanne Hartley

    Veterinary Nurse

    RVN

    Leanne qualified in 2017 and has worked in local , emergency and mixed practices over the last five years. Leanne has recently gained her qualification in canine sport massage therapy and is currently working towards her certificate in hydrotherapy! She still has a big interest in physiotherapy and is always expanding her knowledge in this field! Leanne is married to David and they have two boys, a cat, two dogs and a tortoise.

    Robyn Scott

    Veterinary Nurse

    RVN

    Robyn joined the nursing team in 2020 shortly after qualifying from Myerscough.

     

    She loves cats and has four of her own Shadow, Barney, Maize and Kitten.

     

    In her spare time Robyn enjoys paddle-boarding and taking Alan the dachshund for adventures.

    Nick Ellis

    Veterinary Nurse

    RVN

    Nick used to work in graphic design but decided a change was in order and decided to train to become a Veterinary Nurse; he joined the team in 2021 after qualifying from Harper Adams University. Nick has an interest in canine behaviour and is our sustainability manager - making sure we are as eco-friendly as possible! He loves Labradors and enjoys spending his time with his own Labrador Alfie

    Amy Whittingham

    Animal Nursing Assistant

    Amy joined us in 2015 after working at a local kennels for five years.

     

    Amy studied at Myerscough College, completing a National Diploma in Animal Care and a BSc in Animal Behaviour and Welfare. Amy lives locally with her husband Adam, son and their cat, Dolly.

    Karen Farley

    Receptionist

    Karen joined Lancaster Vets in October 2005 after moving to the area from Wakefield, where she worked as a financial administrator. She says that the advert to work with us “jumped out of the page”! Karen lives with her husband Bob and has a grown up son, Richard, who hopes to take the financial world by storm! She also has a Labrador called Dave!

    Katy Yare

    Receptionist

    Katy joined the team in October 2014 having worked as a carer and personal assistant. She doesn’t have pets but is constantly being persuaded by our clients to change that! She initially came to Lancaster in 2010 to study at the University of Cumbria, but has never left and lives locally with husband Alex and 2 sons.

    Rachel Westworth

    Receptionist/Animal Nursing Assistant

    Rachel joined the reception team in 2020. She loves her reception role but is looking forward to training as an Animal Nursing Assistant as well! She enjoys walking Oscar, the cockerpoo, at the weekends
