Our practice provides a range of pet care services. If you have any questions about your pet's need for treatment or a specific aspect of our service, please call the veterinary practice or email us.
We offer a complete veterinary service
The practice provides a full range of services and our veterinary care is underpinned by the use of a full range of modern treatments. A list of services is detailed below:
The nurses are available for help and advice in numerous areas – worming, flea treatment, nutrition and weight clinics, puppy and kitten development checks, dental care, behaviour, training and nail clipping to name a few. Please ask at reception for an appointment.
Routine operations are performed Monday to Friday. Your pet will be admitted by one of the nurses at the beginning of the day and will usually be ready to collect in the afternoon/early evening.
If your pet needs to see a vet or nurse please contact the surgery for an appointment. We run a consultation by appointment system to ensure we can see you and your pet with the minimum waiting time. Occasionally we do have emergencies that do need to take priority and will keep you informed with regard to waiting time if this situation is to arise. All our appointments have a 15 minute consultation time so there’s plenty of time for your pet to have a thorough examination. We offer late night appointments on a Monday and Wednesday and Saturday morning appointments for your convenience.
If you require a repeat prescription for you pet please contact the surgery. We need to see your pet regularly so that we can monitor and if necessary change your pet’s medication. Current legislation also requires us to re-examine your pet on a regular basis to continue dispensing medication, the vet will advise you at the check up appointment when your pet will next need to be seen. If your pet is not due for a re-examination consultation, please give us 24 hours notice that you require repeat medication.
Where required home visits can be arranged with reception. There is an additional charge for this service and where possible we would ask you to bring your pet to the surgery. At the surgery we have to hand the best equipment and facilities to treat your pet and if your pet requires urgent care bringing them straight to us will prevent any delays in getting treatment
Text Message Reminder Service
We are now running our own text reminder service that send you a reminder for both your flea and worming treatment for your pet! If you don't have a mobile number you can also receive these reminders by email. On both text and email you will also have the option to request more product if you find you haven't got any at home.
Our current written prescription charge is £17.50 for the first item and £10.00 for additional items requested at the same time for the same pet. These charges cover the work involved in the vet reviewing your pets records and preparing the prescription.
Return of Medicines
Under legislation once drugs have left the practice we are unable to accept them back for refunds, even if in a sealed, unopened pack. We can however organise disposal of any unwanted drugs.
For your own safety please ensure you keep all dogs on leads and all cats in baskets. Both are available from reception if required.
If your pet fouls in or around the practice please let us know so we can clean it up.
Please turn off your mobile phone before entering the consult room.
We do not give credit—payment is required at the time of consultation or on collecting your pet after an operation or procedure
The Practice is a non-smoking building.
We operate 24 hour CCTV surveillance for the purposes of security and safety. The owner and operator of the system is Lancaster Veterinary Centre.
When visting the practice there is lots of on-street parking but please feel free to make use of our carpark at the side of the practice in Winchester Avenue. This is particularly useful if your appointment coincides with dropping-off time (8.45am to 9.15am) or pick-up time (3.05pm to 3.30pm) at the local primary school across the road from the practice.
